Modica town is quaint and has lots to offer to the tourist.
Modica town is quaint and has lots to offer to the tourist. It can best be explored on foot though you will need a car to go from Modica alta to the lower area of Modica. Modica has many churches and eateries as well as shops and the narrow streets are fascinating and always offering lovely surprises. It is a hilly town so not ideal for the elderly tourst to get around unless they get a taxi

Very nice city split in two parts, Modica alta(hill) and modica bassa(old town), long corso for nice promenade for shopping and eating, many old interesting buildings and monuments, turistic train running around the city, defintely 1-2 night to spend worth it.

Modica is a very interesting town. For older people the steps and steep roads and streets might be challenging. The green tourist “train” gave a good overview of the histoic centre of the old town. Modica is famous for its chocolate - tours need to be booked at least 24 hours in advance.

Modica is so unique.
Modica is so unique. Our first view of the steep hillside of buildings took our breath away. Our phones weren't helping us get there so we drove down from the alto section to the bottom through the town. That was amazing. Just looking up at different times of the day are worth the experience.

Unfortunately we visited Modica on a rainy day so our experience was dampened a little. It looked like it was full of historical interest and of course it's famous for its chocolate if you like their style of chocolate!
We found Ragusa Ibla more enjoyable.

Modica was the perfect Baroque city to locate in to explore the other cities and the beach. The location to bus station and train station was convenient to do daytime exploring. The city had a good mix of tourist stuff and regular people shops and restaurants.
Mostly I cooked in my apartment but I took day trips every day.
This was our favourite apartment on our 3 week trip of Sicily. We had excellent communication before and during our stay. The apartment is extremely spacious and very tastefully decorated and furnished. The apartment is within 5 minutes walk of the main area of Modica and 100m or so from the Cathedral of St George. We were met on arrival and provided with very useful recommendations on authentic local food options. We had an issue with the bathroom tap which the owner fixed incredibly rapidly. Beautiful apartment in a simple beautiful place.
La Terrazza Dell'Ittria offers staggering views over the old town of Modica-- something out of a dream. Breakfast also excellent and varied, the manager extremely friendly and inviting, and the room comfortable, functional, and big. A climb to get from the commercial center back to the hotel, but that's part of the enjoyment. The best place to stay when in Modica-- waking up to the astounding views is really magic.
We love the beautiful Baroness room with a nice view of the Duomo.
The host Gianpiero was most kind and thoughtful. We had trouble getting to Modica from Ragusa by train because or a hailstorm. He allowed us to change the reservation and helped us get a cab the next day. He gave us a warm welcome and took really good care of us.
We would certainly stay here again if we come back to Modica
Thoughtfully and beautifully furnished and equipped apartment with everything I could ask for and my generous host provided so many extras met lovely helpful locals in a friendly neighbourhood and I could almost touch Santa Giorgio from the balcony. What a view. It was a thrill. Thanks Fabrizio and modica an incredible city and highlight of Sicily for me. Debra McLean
Location was good in terms of proximity to the centre of Modica. Gino sent us instructions to open up and then greeted us when we were inside. He also provided some delicious biscuits and other supplies to make a dinner if you wanted to. Coffee and water were also available.
Our double bed was comfortable and most cleaning, laundry supplies were available.
The owner really does everything to make your stay memorable, the breakfast was amazing and the room very nice. The only challenge for the stay was the location of the hotel which is on the hilltop of modica. The public transportation is not very convenient, so you have to run up and down a lot.
Great place to stay. The hôtel is in a family palace. Gianpiero is a great host, helpful and welcoming. The room was huge with a balcony overseeing the city. We only stay 1 night but it was a great one. The heat of the city is close by the hôtel.
WE had a perfect stay in this place. The owner ist so charming and helpful, she Made even sure WE try the best sweets in town- thanks again! The breakfast in the nearby latteria was the best during our whole stay in sicily, WE will miss it!
the hotel is very nice and modern and offers a series of facilities like a garage, a swimming-pool, a fitness and wellness area, a bar and a restaurant. Breakfast was good with a large choice of products.
Good value for money.
This was a lovely place to rest and enjoy this part of Italy! The extra touches were so welcoming! I loved the well-stocked kitchen and lovely warm touches like extra towels and breakfast supplements (like jams and toast!).
Super clean, large rooms, great view from the big balcony, excellent breakfast, central location. Amazing hospitality!
I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone who wants to visit Modica. It was our best B&B experience!
The location was next to the St Giorgius Cathedral and had stunning views. The balcony was wonderful. our host, Valentina, came to greet us after hours. The breakfast at the Bar del Duomo was the best we had in Sicily.
Newly renovated rooms in original style. In the heart of Modica, close to restaurants and sights. Wonderful terrace with a view. Nice balcony. Great breakfast and service.
